Speaker Policy

Before an event is held at the masjid, you must read/adhere and sign the following form;

For the purpose of this Speaker Policy, ‘Speaker’ refers to any person who is presenting or disseminating information including lecturers, imams, teachers, workshop facilitators, fundraisers at Jamia Masjid Ahle Hadith, Halifax. This Speakers Policy is aimed at religious and non-religious materials.

  1. Jamia Masjid Ahl-e-Hadith, Halifax ascribes to the methodology of the Ahl al-Hadith. As such, all speakers must respect the principles of this noble methodology. In particular, all knowledge disseminated from its platforms is in accordance with the Qur’an and Sunnah upon the understanding of the righteous predecessors.
  2. All speakers must always uphold excellent conduct and behaviour.
  3. Speakers must maintain respect for all persons, including attendees, participants and fellow speakers, opinions, and views, especially if they differ from their own.
  4. Speakers must not engage in or encourage participation in any illicit or dishonest activities, or any other activities which are considered makhrooh (disliked) or haram (forbidden).
  5. Speakers must adhere to the topic that has been assigned to them and not digress.
  6. No speaker is permitted to advertise or promote any deviant organisation, personality or idea.
  7. Speakers must not raise funds including sponsorships and donations, for any individual or organisation, without prior written agreement from (insert masjid).
  8. Speakers/lecturers are not permitted to encourage, glorify, or promote any acts of terrorism, including any individuals, groups and organisations who support such actions. Jamia Masjid Ahle Hadith, Halifax categorically condemns all forms of terrorism irrespective of who the perpetrator is or the rationale behind such acts.
  9. Speakers must not incite hatred, violence or call for the breaking of any law of the land and thus aid in disrupting social and communal harmony or anything which is likely to inflame public opinion.
  10. Speakers must not insult other faiths or groups through the non-academic pursuit of language or discussion.
  11. Speakers must not discriminate against any segment of society based on race, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability.
  12. All speakers must adhere to all internal procedures and policies as directed by (insert masjid) Management for their own safety and the safety of others.
  13. All speakers hosting at Jamia Masjid Ahl-e-Hadith, Halifax are fully responsible for the composition, content and material they are presenting. Jamia Masjid Ahl-e-Hadith, Halifax will not be held responsible or liable for any actions, behaviour or material of the speakers thereon.
  14. All speakers must sign the ‘Speaker Declaration’.

I AGREE THAT:

  1. I will respect the Ahl ul-Hadith methodology which the Masjid represents. Anything I mention will be in accordance with the Qur’an and Sunnah as understood by the early Muslims.
  2. I will not promote any deviant organisation, sect or personality.
  3. I will ensure that everything I mention is in line with Islamic principles.
  4. I will not encourage, glorify or promote any acts of terrorism, including any individuals, groups and organisations who support such actions.
  5. I will not incite hatred, violence or call for the breaking of any law of the land and thus aid in disrupting social and communal harmony or anything which is likely to inflame public opinion.
  6. I will not insult other faiths or groups through the non-academic pursuit of language or discussion.
  7. I am not a member of or sympathetic to any banned organisation in the UK
  8. I will adhere to the topic that has been assigned to me and not digress.
  9. Not to raise funds for any organisation or cause without written permission from Jamia Masjid Ahle Hadith, Halifax.
