As-Salaamu Alaykum,
Following a recent visit from the local policing team that visited the Masjid during last week’s Jummah Khutbah, we have received feedback that attendees are leaving the Masjid with little or no social distancing. Attendees were also seen to be meeting and greeting each other and standing in small groups outside the Masjid grounds.
Please remember that we are in a national lockdown and the Masjids being left open is a blessing. It is therefore important that you follow the national guidelines when attending the Masjid and not meeting anyone outside your support bubbles.
The Masjid management has a commitment to keep attendees safe as COVID continues to remain a big threat to life, so everyone needs to follow the following guidelines when attending the Masjid;
- Do not congregate with people inside or outside the Masjid
- Maintain the 2-meter social distance at all times
- Wear a facemask at all times
- Bring and use your own prayer mat
Authorities now have the power to issues fines for not adhering to the rules, if there is no improvement it may cause the Masjid to be closed!
